How God’s Word is True

Blacks, Religion, Social Conservativism

Posted by Mats on 01/01/2009

I would like to start by saying that I am not a racist. I am a creationist hence I know that all humans trace their lineage back to Adam and Eve. Considering one ethnic group “superior” than the other it’s like considering your self superior than your own brother or sister. Racism is idiotic.

There is, however, one question that boils my mind. Blacks in america are the ethnic group with the highest church attendence (and I praise God for that). They are also one of the more socially conservatives groups in the USA (pro traditional marriage, pro-life, etc). Then, if this is so, how come blacks are also among the most violent and aggressive ethnic groups in the USA?

How do we harmonize these facts? Is there anything I am missing? Any thoughts?

I’m glad you believe the entire human species is completely incestuous. Please explain to me in a logical manner how nearly 7 billion people originated from one couple and how there is so much genetic variation in the human population. I am interested in a response.

    Frisco,

There isn’t much mistery in that. God created Adam and Eve with a rich gene pool.
Why can’t all the >6 billion people on earth be descendents of one woman and one man?

Not to be offensive, but what is your biology education background?

If all of us were descended from two people, the entire species would be deathly sickly from genetic diseases that arise from incest and inbreeding. And how do you explain that every generation yielded a woman and a man? It is completely logical and highly probable that at least one generation had all male or all female children, so please explain how reproduction would then occur.

    And you spelled “mystery” wrong.

Enough to know that there are no problems with the Historical Biblical description of origins.

If all of us were descended from two people, the entire species would be deathly sickly from genetic diseases that arise from incest and inbreeding.

But we DO have genetic deseases, due to the Fall of Adam.
When God made Adam and Eve there were no genetic deseases in the gene pool. After the Fall, the genetic malfuctions started to apear but since God created ADam and EVe with a great deal of variability, the genetic problems would only be too problematic if people went on marrying too close in the family.

And how do you explain that every generation yielded a woman and a man?

    Biology.

It is completely logical and highly probable that at least one generation had all male or all female children, so please explain how reproduction would then occur.

It is not “completely logical” that a whole generation would bring forth only people with a certain gender. What makes you imagine that error?

What documentation is there in the Bible that states which genetic diseases were caused by the fall of Adam and Eve? I’d like to know how the ancients were able to record these diseases thousands of years before they were discovered by modern scientists.

What did Adam and Eve look like? If everyone is descended from them, how are there people with extremely pale skin and extremely dark skin, people with blue to black eyes, and people with dozens of different hair colors? How would there be different groups of people with drastically different facial structures, ranging from Africans to Caucasians to Asians? It would be nearly impossible for every one of those mutations to occur within such a short period of time from one couple.

Someone needs to look into pigeon breeding, or dog breeding to grasp how much genetic variety can exist within a very small original population. Guinea pigs are another good example of huge diversity coming from a small original population.

Also, incest itself doesn’t *cause* genetic defects. If you already carry a genetic defect, and you marry a brother or sister, the likelihood that the genetic defect will manifest in the children is increased simply because the brother or sister probably inherited the same defect and therefore they might both contribute the same recessive gene during recombination, causing the disease they *already carried* to be manifest in the children.

But this wouldn’t be an issue if Adam and Eve didn’t have defects and mutations in their genes to begin with. Only after several generations under a cursed creation would there be any accumulation of mutation load to present a danger.
