Oprah Says, “You Need to Buy a Vibrator for Your Teen Daughter”

While I was away for the first days of Passover, I missed a lot. And I missed a lot of garbage.

In the latter category, on her daytime talk show, Thursday, Oprah Winfrey had a mother give her ten-year-old daughter the “birds and bees” talk. That was bad enough.

Worse was Oprah’s sex therapist, “Dr.” Laura Berman (who is not a real doctor, she has a Ph.D.). Berman, who hosts the “Better in Bed” show on Oprah’s XM channel, told parents

you can also introduce your daughters about self-stimulation, orgasm, masturbation . . . . And think about getting a vibrator [for your daughters] when they’re fifteen. . . . I’m a big believer in a vibrator for every woman. Every woman should have one.

And, of course, big fat Oprah was the one-woman giant amen crowd for this outrageous advice to buy sex toys for your kids.

Oprah:

What is the big deal about a vibrator?

Dirty Old Hags Tell You to Buy Vibrators For Your Daughters

For you, Oprah, probably nothing, since it’s your eternal bedmate.

Yup, this is what Oprah wants you to teach your ten-year-old. Who needs Larry Flynt’s filth, when you can hear this gross fantasy on daytime television? Where the heck is the FCC? So, Howard Stern has to be censored, but this goes on the airwaves, interruption-free?

Oh, and get the “feminist,” anti-male excuse for teaching your young kids to masturbate.

“Dr.” Laura Berman:

Teach your daughters to self-stimulate . . . so that they never have to depend on a boy to do it for them.

Uh-huh. This is what your kids watch on afternoon TV when they come home from school.

I seem to remember a similarly obtuse person recommending this “teach your kids to masturbate” BS. Remember Joycelyn Elders, President Clinton’s incompetent, affirmative action project surgeon general?

Remember her? We’d rather not.

  1. “Dirty old hags”?

    Wow.

You call yourself a Christian, yet you are hating on women for being mature?

You call yourself a Christian, yet you are opposing being honest with our children about sex?

    Wow.

What ? This is the way Christians talk about people?

And, of course, big fat Oprah

It is closed minded parents like you who wish to walk around pretending that sex is not happening with the young teens and that sex ed should not be discussed that are gonna end up with a pregnant teen.

I was a bit shocked when a friend told me the details of the show but I was actually searching the internet for a link to a copy of the show to watch and then watch with my 12 year old when I stumbled upon your nonsense.

What is so bad about talking with your child about desires and feelings that are normal? I would rather help her channel those desires into innocent acts of self pleasure than finding out that she was giving boys blow jobs in the back of the school bus (and BELIEVE ME, kids are doing it).

First of all, I think that there is nothing in the article who says anything against sex education.
Secondly, the fact that teens are having sex doesn’t mean we are to condone that behaviour, specially knowing its effects. Teens are smoking and having drugs too.
Thirdly, I don’t think that telling your teen daughter to get a vibrator is something that parents want their girls to hear related to sex education.

I was a bit shocked when a friend told me the details of the show

You were schocked because you are probably a responsible and sensitive mom, who realizes that shows like these are totally off the mark. Teaching girls to use a vibrator is nonsense

but I was actually searching the internet for a link to a copy of the show to watch and then watch with my 12 year old when I stumbled upon your nonsense.

    Which part is nonsense?

What is so bad about talking with your child about desires and feelings that are normal?

There is nothing wrong in talking about sex with your kids. However telling your teen girls to use a vibrator is not “talking about sex” in a responsible.

I would rather help her channel those desires into innocent acts of self pleasure

Self-pleasure is not innocent. It’s sin.

than finding out that she was giving boys blow jobs in the back of the school bus (and BELIEVE ME, kids are doing it).

Those are not hte only two options (masturbate or give blow jobs!). What kind of nonsence is that? loll
