Number One Favorite Smell…

Posted by Mats on 18/10/2010

Barbeque is the number one favorite smell, on most people’s smell list. It brings instant salivation. The top favorite color is blue. That makes sense, because blue gives us a sense of well-being. Who doesn’t appreciate a clear blue sky? What are some of the every day pleasures you enjoy? Good music? How about the first bite of a tender steak, or some liquid that hits the spot on a really hot day? Imagine losing all of those pleasures. Imagine if you found yourself in a place where a terrible thirst could never be quenched.

I don’t need to “imagine” such a place. I am 100% convinced that Hell exists; and Hell is a place where there is no pleasure. No friends. No parties. I believe this because I know that a Creator exists, because creation exists: It is…therefore He does. As mocking atheists say, “Goddidit.” It doesn’t take too much thought.

I know intuitively that the Creator is good, because I am part of a “moral” creation. No animal has concerns about justice and truth. Only man. If God exists and is good, He therefore must care about justice. Billions feel as I do. Simply ask any human being what God requires of them, and they will say that He expects us to “live a good life,” etc. From there, common sense dictates that murderers and rapists will ultimately be punished. That’s a given. But what most of humanity doesn’t understand is that the standard of goodness that God has is infinitely higher than ours. That means that on Judgment Day His justice will be infinitely more demanding.

To believe that God doesn’t exist–that there is no absolute morality, no ultimate justice, and you can live as you wish, is to have all your eggs in one broken down basket, with a loose handle. If you are guilty on Judgment Day (and remember that lust is adultery in God’s eyes–Matthew 5:27-28), you will give up all of life’s wonderful pleasures.

Think about what “damnation” actually means. Crying out “I’m so sorry, I was wrong, God help me!” will mean nothing. The door of mercy will be closed. You laughed at His servants, you mocked His gospel, you blasphemed His name, you were ungrateful for the life he gave you, and lived in a way that was abhorrent to Him. Now you must face the music. Justice will have finally caught up with you, and there will be Hell to pay.

For the Christian, Hell has already been “paid.” Justice has been satisfied through the suffering death of the Savior. We can leave the courtroom. We will have pleasure for evermore, on a new earth…one without tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, disease, pain, suffering, death, etc. God hasn’t even begun to show the pleasures He has in store for those that love Him (see 1 Corinthians 2:9). We have instant salvation the moment we call upon Him, and eternal salivation awaiting us.

So what’s holding you back from repentance, and faith in Jesus? We both know the answer to that, don’t we? It’s two-fold. Your pride, and your love of your sin. Maybe the next time pleasure comes your way, you will consider these sobering thoughts. I hope so.

Abortion: Woman Had 15 Abortions

Posted by Mats on 22/09/2009

“How shall ye escape de damnation of hell?” – Matt 23:33

Thanks to

Not all serial killers are wanted by the police. Self-described abortion addict Irene Vilar is free to kill and kill again with the active encouragement of authorities, who confiscate your money to help finance her homicidal activities.

Vilar has committed 15 abortions in 16 years. Here’s how ABC sees fit to report on her accomplishment, and on her attempt to exploit it for financial gain:

Irene Vilar worries that her self-described “abortion addiction” will be misunderstood, twisted by the pro-life movement to deny women the right to choose.

Her book, “Impossible Motherhood,” which will be released by Other Press on Oct. 6, chronicles her own dark choices: 15 abortions in 16 years, much of it as a married woman.

As press on the book has begun to leak out, Vilar — a literary agent and editor — says she has already sensed “an inkling of hatred.”

The poor victim.

I wonder if the butchers at Planned Parenthood give her every tenth abortion on the house. They definitely owe her a lifetime achievement award.

Serial killer Irene Vilar.

Repent America - Calling A Nation In Rebellion Toward God To Repentance

Our ministry team recently returned from Panama City Beach, Florida where we proclaimed the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ during the two most heavily populated weeks of Spring Break. Through open-air preaching, one-on-one witnessing and tract distribution, tens of thousands of college students who had gathered to indulge in sin heard the call to repent and believe the Gospel.

Michael Marcavage preaches to thousands gathered in front of the MTV stage.

Even more intense than last year, the atmosphere on the beach was immensely wicked, as was the hostility toward the Gospel. While MTV blared unGodly music and messages to the enormously large crowds of students who gathered to engage in drunkenness and open sexual perversion, we set up our half-mile public address system in the midst of them, calling upon students to turn from their sinful, destructive life choices and to believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ before it was too late.

Jake Gardner preaching on the beach.

As we preached and lifted up the name of the Lord through the singing of hymns in the midst of this celebration of sin, several students attacked our team and damaged our equipment on several different occassions, resulting in their arrests. On another occasion, an angry student struck a pastor with our team in the face with a football as he was preaching, causing him to be knocked unconscious.  The pastor recovered and was back out preaching the next day.

One of a number of encounters with Panama City Beach police.

At times, area hotels and other businesses attempted to silence our message of repentance from sin by contacting the police to have us removed from their beach property, which they claimed they owned up to the ocean water. We were threatened with arrest for “trespass” several times for preaching the Gospel in areas that were ironically open to the public for Spring Break. After involving our legal counsel in the situation, the city attorney agreed that these businesses could not order us away as long as we were stationed within 25-feet of the water along the coastline anywhere in the city limits. At that point, we were free to witness and preach God’s Word without the threat of arrest.

Still, the rejection that saddened us the most was the behavior of many professing Christians. Sadly, many students on the beach who were there to partake in drunkenness and sexual immorality stated that they were “Christians,” even, at times, quoting Scripture, and trying to justify their behavior as somehow acceptable to God, telling us that we should not preach repentance.

Conversely, as we observed some of the other Christian ministries on the beach, we became extremely disturbed at the “evangelism” methods of these groups. One of these “ministries” used vans to give intoxicated students free rides from party to party and club to club, even stating that they would give a student a ride to Planned Parenthood if requested, and another would simply have their members chat with students and have them repeat scripted prayers and then declare them to be “saved.” There was no mention of repentance, nor any expression of sorrow for transgressing the Law of God. As a result of these unBiblical methods, these same supposedly “converted” students would simply stay on the beach to continue in their sin, now convinced that they were “saved.”

Body of a 21-year-old college student found in ditch.Eternity is not something to play games with. None of these students know when their souls will be required of them. No one is promised tomorrow. In fact, during our first week in Panama City Beach, police reported that a 20-year-old student fell from a motel roof and landed on his face after he “had been drinking all day,” and several days later a 21-year-old male student from Texas was found dead outside of a condominium complex in a ditch, which was also alcohol-related. Two days after our departure, a 20-year-old was killed in a hit and run incident, and the driver, also age 20, lost his life minutes later after colliding with an oncoming truck. Our prayers go out to the families, but these deaths should be a sobering reminder of how temporal our lives are here on this earth. “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27)

Even though our time in Panama City Beach was extremely difficult to behold, we are thankful that we were able to declare the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to thousands of souls lost in darkness and sin. Please continue to pray that many of these students who have now returned to their colleges will seriously reconsider the direction of their lives, repent, and put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ before it is too late.

Thank you for your prayers and support in making this outreach a success!

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat or Christ, that every one may receive [recompense for] the things done in his body, according to that [which] he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men.” (2 Corinthians 5:10-11)
